! am an experienced history researcher. Over the past 10 years I have spent a great deal of time in archives and record offices,examining a wide range of historical material. This was both for academic qualifications and as a professional researcher.
I have undertaken research in major repositories such as the National Archives and the British Library as well as local records offices in the Greater London area and in Norwich, Cambridge, Sheffield, Manchester and Newport, South Wales.
Academic Qualifications In 2006, I was awarded a PhD (doctorate) in modern British history from Kingston University The title of my thesis is 'The Rise and Decline of Selected Labour Halls in the Greater London Area 1918-1979'. I also have an MA (Master of Arts degree) in Women's History: Gender and Society in Britain and Europe 1500-1980 from Royal Holloway, University of London and a BA (Bachelor of Arts degree) in History and English Literature from St Mary's University College, Twickenham
Research Projects On these pages, you will find detailed information on three of my most significant research projects. The first of these was to trace the history of Wimbledon Labour Hall Co-operative Society between 1921-2001. I have also examined the East India Company army career of a Scottish doctor in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. I am currently working on a History e-Learning Project on Victorian social history for Kingston University.
